Its near our home and we were there for our anniversary. We will not go back and if asked will tell people to avoid this restaurant. This was not a good meal and definitely not worth the price (even if you take into account the entertainment). My salmon was overly seasoned and I paid $7 for five pieces of overcooked asparagus. The menu said “garlic & parsley mashed potatoes.” I had ordered and received a (half cooked) baked potato which was exactly what my husband got. The waiter returned and said they didn’t have sour cream (?!) and that the baked potato was their version of mashed potatoes. He was served a baked potato instead of mashed so he asked the waiter to either bring him mashed potatoes or sour cream to put on the baked potato. The chicken was 3 overcooked (fried) little pieces with a so-so tasting glaze on it. Next door is a bar.Where do I start? My husband ordered sweet glazed chicken with mashed potatoes and broccoli. There was nobody in the restaurant, we were the only customer. I was here with a Vietnamese friend and her family/friends after her wedding. But that is understandable cause it is located in that part of town. They also do to-go orders as well! But be warned sometimes the chicken wings are smaller than normal.įrom outside, the place looks sort of. ![]() Also parking is limited so you'll park on the street most likely. But otherwise the staff is pretty friendly. The only thing negative is that this place can get pretty packed on a weekend at night. Also another tip is most of the Noodle dishes that contain broth you can get it hotpot style! It's great for sharing. They use real squid and it's deep fried in a rice flour batter then sautéed with onions and green scallion. It's pretty rare and goes great with rice! _ Pepper Salted Squid One of the places that does squid right. Thin slices of beef steak doused in hot lemon juice mixed with fish sauce and garlic. If you like your steaks more rare then medium rare then this is a treat. _ Bo trang chan Not for the faint of heart. _ Bo Luc Lac Cubes pieces of steak shaken in a mixture of fish sauce with Thai chilies, garlic, lemongrass. Rice is extra so you have to order rice (rice comes in small, medium or large). Sometimes the chicken is smaller the usual. _ Fish sauce chicken wings Deep fried chicken wings sautéed with Thai chilis, garlic and shallots. Extremely savory and spicy, just what you need to prevent that hangover tmr! This is the closest you'll get to moms cooking. Things you should eat here: _ Bun Bo Hue Well bodied spicy bowl of Pork Noodles. The people are real here, the food is everything, meaning only 21 are allowed so no kids. You stand upfront questioning how you got to this part of 82, but you squint and remind yourself, "it's for the food dagnambit." This place is by far the best place for late night viet food, don't even compare it to LUC LAC it's hipster Americanized counter part. The loud belches of sad Vietnamese kareoke love songs boom loudly from the inner room, and loud clinks of Tsingtao beer collide. ![]() You notice seedy looking men on lotto machine catch glimpses of said sparkles. Ah~ to be surrounded in the intensity of cigarette smoke, and third world country profanities looking around you see adolescent intoxicated club goers in their sparkly skirts and high heels.
